Huckleberry Friend.
I wanted to create a painting that would be like a little bit of simple happiness, like a playful sunbeam on the wall.
We tend to think about love as something born out of external, something that another person or subject creates us, but this is a misunderstanding, love is something that lives inside us already, something that we already have (or not) and we direct it on others.
In his book, The Four Loves, which I like very much, C.S. Lewis is distinguishing the types of love we have in our lives: affection, friendship, Eros, and charity, and I think this perspective deepens the meaning and enriches all our various relationships, as well as our outlook on this simple word, used so often and lightly, that it’s easy sometimes forget what it really means.
True friendship is such a precious gift.
To find a soulmate with whom everything is so easy that you feel as if you both are kids again, is a real treasure!
I really hope that you have it too, and this is what I want to say with a little happy squirrel.

I was always wondering about that line in Moon River song, I didn’t know what huckleberry friend meant, but at the moment huckleberry appeared in this tiny paw, I decided to sort out the question 😄
